Supporting Teachers
As a long time PYP homeroom teacher and IBEN workshop leader, I believe strongly in the collaborative approach to planning espoused by the International Baccalaureate. Having also worked as an MYP Technology teacher, a language support teacher, a technology integration specialist, curriculum designer and coach, I also have first-hand knowledge of the flexibility and open-mindedness it takes to make this sort of teamwork operate effectively.

In a previous position I initiated a PYP integration curriculum from the ground up while training colleagues on-the-job how to use the tools embedded into the curriculum along with the pedagogical rationale for doing so.
I further assisted teachers in the MYP & DP programmes with integration requests and professional development along with school wide Moodle implementation. I have created a sampling of units I have been a part of with teachers and students recently below including the preamble to a personal project of mine on, Planning for ICT Proficiency Across the School (right). Some of these could just as easily have gone on the Supporting Students page as there is naturally considerable crossover between the two categories. |
Google Advanced Search
One morning a colleague asked me where to find images she could use for a project. After talking to her about a variety of options, I made this quick screencast to send to everyone and placed it on our YouTube Channel's "How To" playlist for future reference. |

Making the PYP Happen Introductory Overview Video
Unveiled at the Making the PYP Happen Workshop at Beanstalk International Bilingual School in Beijing (August 2013) this video introduces new practitioners to this big curriculum framework. Frankly, it served as a great refresher for me as well, reinforcing my belief in the power of digital storytelling to reinforce learning while developing communication and ICT skills. |

Integrating into MYP Units
I have assisted teachers with technology integration in the Middle Years Programme as well. I have collaboratively planned and executed units in which students have won both first and third prize in the national Sakura Medal Book Trailer Contest (2013), assisted learning through video production in the Humanities Grade 7 course and am regularly available for consultation with teachers and students as needed. |

Managing Challenging Schedules
Presented with the same question by groups from two different schools at my recent Role of ICT in the PYP workshop I produced this blog post to help out with a possible solution. I also have written a blog post outlining a comprehensive, school wide approach to the integration of technology across the curriculum. |
Connectivism, Developing Networks & Promotion
Again, this is a clear case of synergy and crossover. I produced this slideshare for a number of reasons. First off, I was introducing a class to digital-age promotion using social media. I also wanted to support those interested in developing their own personal learning networks or in taking them to the next level. I also thought I could use it to share my free pdf Ebook, Deepen Your Digital Footprint: A Beginner to Intermediate Guide to Increasing Web Traffic and Online Presence. |
Taking Better Photos
Charged with producing the yearbook every year I decided to make this short tutorial to help teachers with a professional development opportunity they would likely not have otherwise... taking better photos. We all take them all the time but we don't all learn how to take better photos. A few more pointers here. |
