ISTE Standards
The International Society for Technology in Education's Standards are fast becoming synonomous with effective integration in schools. I have created a document for tracking these standards in a school's programme of inquiry along with SAMR ratings. I have placed a video and extensive blog post with numerous examples of their application on the the SAMR page (as they were used here in concert). Here I would like to share with you a list of digital-age education concepts and skills with a collage of tools that I have enjoyed success with in my classroom and in collaborative planning with other teachers for use in their own.

This is not meant to be an exhaustive list. To remain relevant it is as important to remain on top of new technologies as they are introduced as to document ones that have been useful in the past.

The Primary Years Programme is an exciting, effective framework for raising the standards for teaching and learning in schools. Nothing good comes easily, however, and tracking formative skill development, learner profile attributes, dispositions, development of conceptual understandings, and knowledge acquisition can be challenging.
As an Educational Technology Coach, it falls to me to make the tracking of technology standards and SAMR levels manageable for my team members. While bringing ideas to the table for the authentic integration of technology into units of inquiry I also need to keep my records up-to-date in order to plan for effective implementation and further development of the technology program. The table to the left is one simple way of ensuring I am able to do so. Click on the image to view full screen |
